Tammy Oswald Giles, age 56, of Cumby, passed away Saturday February 10, 2018 at Medical City in Plano. He was born in Wolfe City to Verin Elmer Giles and Leona Barker Giles. He grew up living and loving the simple country life of farming and ranching where his greatest passions were his daughters, being a Popper, and his cattle.
He was a member of Cross Trails Cowboy Church in Fairlie where he previously served as an Elder and Lay Pastor. He was the Vice President of Cumby ISD School board, a member of the Northeast Texas Livestock Association and Cumby Young Farmers.
He is survived by his mother, Leona Barker Giles; his 4 daughters, Cherice & Jessica Giles both of Washington State, Heather Weatherbee & husband Josh of Cumby, and Kaylee Giles of Cumby; a sister, Vanetta Arriaga; brothers, Frank of Celeste, Gene of Bogata, Elmer of Birthright, Dale of Royse City, Gary & Tim of Wolfe City and Jamy of Commerce; 12 grandchildren, Cerena, Taylor, Valerie, Wesley, Dylan, Isaiah, Alex, Bre, Ryley, Case, Avery & Kalyn.
He was preceded in death by his father Verin Elmer Giles, sister Eutricia Williams, and two brothers, W.S. and Royce Giles.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 15 at Cross Trails Cowboy Church in Fairlie, conducted by Oliver Mowat. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City.
Visitation will be on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home in Wolfe City.
The Giles brothers will serve as pallbearers.
