Verna Mae Sigmon, 89, of Wolfe City died May 24, 2010, at Greencrest Manor of Greenville following an illness lasting several months. A graveside service is scheduled at 11 a.m. today at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City with Dr. Kevin Mitchell officiating.

R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home of Wolfe City is in charge of arrangements.

She was born in Fairlie on Sept. 8, 1920, to Albert Sidney and Nettie Lenora Craig Lemons. She married Lonnie Cocral Sigmon on Sept. 26, 1936, in Greenville.

Mrs. Sigmon retired from Baylor Medical Center. She was a Baptist.

Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Sigmon Richcreek and husband Frank of Quinlan; grandchildren Sondra Williams and husband Dwayne of Coppell, Lonnie James Sigmon and wife Susan of Austin, Stephen Bradley Taylor and wife Angie of Leonard, Michelle Gressett and husband David of Munster and Robert Taylor and wife Tonya of Mesquite; and 12 great-grandchildren.
