January 23, 1921 –  February 1, 2017 Hill,
Vernon Duke Hill age 96 of Ladonia, Texas passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 with his loving family at his side. He was born on January 23, 1921 in Wolfe City, Texas to Robert Henry and Bessie Lee Perkins Hill. He married Ramona Fern Tucker on March 27, 1960 in Ladonia, Texas

Mr. Hill was a long time deacon of the First Baptist Church in Ladonia and a 1940 graduate of Ladonia High School. He served in the United States Navy during WWII aboard the USS Dyson and was a member of the Little Beavers Destroyer Squadron.

He is survived by two children June Drawbond and husband Jacky of Ladonia, and Milton Hill and wife Rachel of Hilltop Lakes; twelve grandchildren Ashley Wright, Nicholas Treadway, Rebekka Aviles, Angel Hill, Destiny Hill, Michael Hill, Josh Hill, Nicole Salas, Addison Hill, Saphire Hill, Marie Hill, Mika Hill and fifteen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Fern Hill, parents, brothers Robert and William Hill, grandson Cody Hill and great-granddaughter Odyssey Salas.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 3, 2017 at the First Baptist Church in Ladonia from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at the First Baptist Church in Ladonia with Bro. David Howard officiating. Interment will follow at the Ladonia City Cemetery with Bobby Hill, Lex Henderson, Scott Ward, Glendale Tucker, Cullen Tucker, Tom Hoover and Tom Hulsey serving as pallbearers. Military graveside honors will be performed by the U. S. Navy and the Hunt County Veterans Honor Guard
