June 22, 1926 – August 23, 2013 Vivian H. Purvis, 87, of Wolfe City died Friday, August 23, 2013 in the Hunt Regional Medical Center of Greenville. Mrs. Purvis was born in Cleburne County Alabama on June 22, 1926 to Christor M. and Martha Benefield Holland. She married Charles Purvis, Jr. in Tifton, Ga. On Sept. 22, 1942. She Worked for the Carroll Georgia Electrical Membership as an account manager. Survivors are two sons: Michael Purvis and wife Andrea of Wolfe City and Larry C. Purvis of Knoxville, Tenn.; 3-Grandaughters, 4-Grandsons, 1-great grand daughter, 1- great-great grand daughter, 1 great-grandson. A sister, Mildred Wilson of Calhoun, Ga. Along with several nieces and nephews. Her special “Kids” Buddy and Rosco her cocker Spaniels along with Bonnie and Clyde her German Sheperds. Mrs. Purvis was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a daughter, Debrah Deaver; grand daughter, Samantha Hannah; 2-brothers and 5-sisters; her loving feline companion “Bobby” and childhood companion, German Shepherd, “Mack”.
She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Bremen, Ga. And member of The Eastern Star of Tifton, Ga.
Funeral Services will be held in the R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, Aug. 25 at 2:30 P.M.. conducted by Bro. Barry Bobbitt. Visitation is Saturday afternoon at the funeral home.
