Wanda Lauderdale, 79, of Wolfe City died the morning of Oct. 9, 2010, at her home following a three-month illness. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday October 14, 2010 at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home chapel with Chaplain Joy Coker of Vista Care Hospice officiating. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City, with Michael Ridings, Larry Ridings, Royce McClendon, Tyrone Williams, Dewayne Brigham and Jimmy Vann serving as pallbearers. Malik Gaffney will serve as honorary pallbearer.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday October 13, 2010 at the funeral home.

Born Jan. 7, 1931, in Bennington, Okla., she was the daughter of William Wesley and Bennie Ray Pye Adams. She was a homemaker.

Survivors are her husband, Ellis Foley Jr. of Wolfe City; a daughter, Joy Lauderdale of Wolfe City; stepchildren Lloyd Lauderdale, Geraldine Henson, Frances Harden and Naomi Matlock; grandchildren Michael Ridings, Larry Ridings, Royce McClendon, Maisha Gaffney and Malik Gaffney; great-grandchildren Coy Ridings, Sequoia Ridings, Molly Nance, Gracie Nance, Brian Ridings, Justin Ridings, Arielle Ridings, Dakota Ridings and Lyrick Gaffney; and many friends.

A son, Larry Lauderdale, and daughter Lena Gail Crump preceded her in death.
