William (Bill) N Grosvenor Jr., age 93, passed away, Saturday, July 22, 2023, at his home in Wolfe City.  He was born to William Nelson Sr. and Marjory Irene Thau “Chick” Grosvenor.

The funeral will be conducted by Pastors Deana Lowe and Brenda Williams, 10:00 A.M., Saturday, July 29, 2023, at First Methodist Church Wolfe City.  Visitation will be Friday, July 28, 2023, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Owens Funeral Home.  Pallbearers will be members of the Excelsior Lodge #505.

He graduated from North Dallas High School and briefly attended SMU, then he joined the Army where he attained the rank of Senior Master Sergeant.  He served in the 49th Armored Division.  When he left active duty, he still wanted to serve his nation, so he served in the Army Reserve and the Air National Guard.  As a member of the National Guard, he served at Fort Polk where he was a band director and played trumpet in the Air National Guard Band of the Southwest, historically known as the 531st Air Force Band.

He worked at Sears Roebuck for 42 years.

Bill married Barbara Ann White in Dallas, August 10, 1956.  They raised three daughters.  He was active in the Masonic Lodge in Wolfe City; he and his wife were active members of First Methodist Church in Wolfe City.

He is survived by his wife, three daughters: Karen Hayes and husband David, Debra Brandi Akerman and her husband Chris, and Wendy Vaughan.  He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jarred Hayes and wife Jennifer, Brandi Pruitt and husband Robert, Heather Hayes, Camille Vaughan and Conner Vaughan as well as his great-grandchildren: Charlie Pruitt, Hudson Pruitt, Rylan Smith, Savannah Wright, Wyatt Shearer, KyLeigh Shearer, Adalyn Hayes and numerous friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Sidney Grosvenor (Patricia) and two twin baby daughters.
