Charles Edward Gardner, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Oak Manor Nursing Home in Commerce. He was born on September 24, 1931 Wolfe City, Texas to Steward James and Ora Pearl Goodwin Gardner. Charles married Charlsie L. Manson Teel on December 1, 1977 in Wolfe City, Texas

Charles was a member of West Main Church of Christ and a rancher for many years. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather great-grandfather.

He is survived by four daughters; Carolyn Reiber and husband Gary, Betty Malone and husband Billy, Donna Nicholson and husband Chip, Rita Nerren and husband Danny. Grandchildren; Gary Fulton Reiber and Kathy Matthews, Megan Reiber Donaldson and husband Zech, Brandy Malone Webb and husband Nick, Austin Nerren and wife Margo, and Kaitlyn Nerren. Great-grandchildren; Tori and Macy Reiber, Preston and Brooklyn Matthews, Kaden Malone, Trey Jones, Jesse Webb, Hailey Webb, and Lyla Donaldson, Grady Fulton, nieces Jean Erwin, Joan Cole, Jan Clayton, Faye Wallace, Charlotte Gardner, Barbara Woodruff, Loretta Luckett, Melia Garner, and Pam Chaney, nephews Ray Gardner, and David Gardner.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 38 years Charlsie Gardner, both parents, brothers James Gardner and wife June and Dwight Gardner and wife Clarice and great nephew James Allen Fenn.

Funeral Services will be held at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home in Wolfe City Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. with David Gibson officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the start of the service at the funeral home.

Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City with grandsons, nephews and sons-in-law serving as pallbearers.
