Clifford Roy Wherley age 85 of Greenville, Texas died on Friday, February 8, 2013 at Smith Nursing Home and Rehab in Wolfe City, Texas. Mr. Wherley was born in Astoria, Illinois on May 28, 1927.

Clifford was a proud World War II veteran, always seen wearing his WW II Veterans hat. He proudly served in the United States Army Air Corp and the United States Navy. He joined the Army at the age of 14 and was given an Honorable Dishcharge after the Army found out he was underage. He was only 14 when he enlisted and sixteen when he was discharged. He enlisted in the Navy at the age of 17 and proudly served for two year.

A memorial service will be held at the Dallas Ft. Worth National Cemetery in Dallas on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at 10:45 A.M. with military honors.

A reception for family and friends will follow at 2:00 P.M. at VFW Post 7426 on highway 380 in Famersville, Texas
