October 22, 1926 –  May 7, 2014 Giddiens,
Columbus Delbert “C.D.” Giddiens of Grapevine, Texas and a former Wolfe City, Texas residence passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Stoneybrook Nursing Center in Grapevine, Texas. Mr. Giddiens was born on Oct. 22, 1926 in Bailey, Texas to Ferrell B. Giddiens and Myrtle Jewel Woodruff Giddiens. He married Blanche H. Caddell in Vernon, Texas on July 30, 1947.

Mr. Giddiens was a full service filling station operator and owner in both Grapevine and Wolfe City, Texas. He joined the army at the age of 16 and was sent to the Philippines Campaign; transferred to the European Campaign in Italy, France and Germany. He left the Army with the rank of Tech Sergeant.

Survivors are 4 daughters; Jean Soderberg & husband Mel, Virginia Thomas & husband Charles, Patsy Crabtree and husband Roger, Judy Williams and husband Allan. One sister, Joyce Grubbs and husband Sam; eight grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Mr. Giddiens will be held at the First Baptist Church in Wolfe City at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 10th with Bro. Tim Hearn officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City, Military Honors will be presented at the Graveside by US Army, and pallbearers are Rob Crabtree, Grady Carpenter, Keith Witt, Sean Williams, Donald Staton and Ron Lang.

Visitation will one hour prior to the service at the church. 1:00 P.M. until time for the service on Saturday
