Darlene Billie Roper, age 80, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at Texoma Medical Center in Bonham. She was born to Arnold Oscar and Minnie Lois Morgan Clayton, February 14, 1939, in Spokane, Washington.
Darlene worked as a housekeeper at Smith Nursing Home in Wolfe City and Seven Oaks Nursing Home in Bonham.
She is survived by her spouse Robert Merle Bascue, of Bonham, brother Billy Clayton of California, sister Lois of California, and her brother-in-law Chuck Bascue of Shawnee, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her husband James Roper, her parents, and son James Clayton.
Visitation will be Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at R.W. Owens and Son Funeral Chapel in Wolfe City. The graveside service will be conducted by Chuck Bascue under the pavilion at Gober Cemetery in Gober at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 21, 2020. Pallbearers will be James Howard, Shane Bennett, Shawn Farmer, Norman Giberson, Michael Davis, and Robert Bascue.

I’m sorry to have missed my sister’s funeral but my prayers are with Bobby at this time. We just have to realize she is in a far better place and out of pain.
