Eva Nell Blankenship Wilcox, age 91, passed away October 7, 2024, at Broadmoor Medical Lodge in Rockwall. She was born to Wesley and Ila Wadley Blankenship December 10, 1932 in Wolfe City.
The funeral service will be conducted by family members and friends 3:00 P.M., Sunday, October 27, 2024, at the chapel at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
Eva married Loyd A Wilcox December 23, 1951.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Rockwall while she was able to attend services there. She worked as an administrative assistant in a law firm. She is survived by her son Rick Wilcox and wife Rebecca, daughter Debbie Smothermon and husband Gary, grandchildren: Clayton Wilcox and wife Julie, Ashton Strong and husband Jeffrey, Weston Wilcox and wife Katy, Kari Watson, Michael Watkins and wife Rebecca. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Matthew Wilcox, Melissa Wilcox, Rylee Strong, Logan Strong, Andrew Watson, Avery Watson, Lillian Watkins, Sidney Watkins, and Owen Watkins, and her two sisters: Melba Dry and Carolyn Thompson and husband Brent.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
She brought love and joy to so many people. We will miss her dearly.
Melba, Carolyn and family, so sorry for your loss. Prayers for your family during this difficult time and for those traveling. I will not be able to attend the services as in Virginia visiting great-grandchildren. However, know that you are in my thoughts.
