Gerald Mead Owens, 86, of Denison was born to Sim and Laura Cozby
Owens in Hickory Creek Community. He went home to be with the Lord on March 24, 2018.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Betty Ruth Crowell
Owens. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Gerald and Sheila
Owens and granddaughters Sara and Lesa Owens, all of Denison. He is also survived by a sister, JoAnn Etheridge of Lone Oak, and numerous nieces
and nephews.
Mead served in the Air Force and retired from the US Postal Service. He was a member of Parkside Baptist Church where he enjoyed volunteering as a greeter and attending the pastor’s bible study.
Funeral services will be held at 11 :oo am Thursday, March 29 at
Parkside Baptist Church in Denison, conducted by Rev Jerry Coffman.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am until service time at the church. Pallbearers are Ron Bartee, Mark Falterman, Raymond Falterman, Gary Hale, Sonny
Rhodes and David Zinck. David Ruble will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that you please make a donation to the charity of your choice.
