Hoyt B Morgan, age 94, passed away at Carrollton Regional Medical Center December 22, 2023. He was born to Nathaniel and Allie Lee Mitchell Morgan May 19, 1929, in Bailey.
The funeral service will be 2:00 P.M., Friday, December 29, 2023, at Owens Funeral Home in Wolfe City. It will be conducted by Bro. J P Perez. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City.
Hoyt married Dorotha N Sandlin in December of 1954. They were together 63 years until her death. Hoyt retired from Kraft Foods after more than 35 years of service. He moved to Dallas from the farm and his sister, Pansy, helped him get his job. He was also a caregiver to his wife for 17 years. He was of the Baptist faith. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge #41 in Garland, Texas.
He is survived by great nieces and nephews: Billy Howard Jones Jr., Dorotha Jones Tucker, Julie Anne Jones Goforth, and Madelyn Rose Morgan.
He was preceded in death by his siblings: Veta Morgan Jones and husband Howard, Herman Morgan, Vernon Morgan, Boyd Morgan and wife Beulah Phillips Morgan, Pansy Morgan Pare and husband Lendon, and Norris Morgan and wife Roxey Slocum Morgan. He is also preceded in death by his nephews: James Douglas Morgan, Chuck Bradley Morgan, and Billy Howard Jones.
I was just a very young girl when you came calling on my Aunt Dot on Red Bud Lane.
Years went by……my where did those 63+ years go?? So many precious memories.
You will be missed….I love you, Uncle Hoyt!
