June 23, 1946 –  February 3, 2017 James,
Loralei Ann James, 70, of Wolfe City, Texas, passed away on Feb. 3, 2017 following a lengthy illness. She was born June 23, 1946 in Great Bend, Kan., to Alvin and Elsie (Kraft) Funk. After spending, most of her growing up years in Otis and Hoisington, Kan., the family moved to Colorado, where she graduated from Littleton High School and attended Denver University.

She married Jimmy Don James July 25, 1965 in Littleton and lived in the Wolfe City-area for almost 40 years.

Lori retired from the Hunt County Community Supervision and Corrections Department in 2009. Previously, she worked for Heller Financial in Dallas. She was active in the community, serving on the board of the Red Cross, chairing Greenville’s Cotton Jubilee, and serving as an officer in the local chapter of Business and Professional Women. Lori also was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Greenville.

Lori is survived by her husband of 51 years, Jimmy; daughter Lynette
McGlamery and husband, Gerry of Houston; son Jimmy Jr. and wife, Martha of Houston; three grandchildren Laurie Beth James, Tommy James and Caitlin McGlamery; sister Barbara Bader of Centennial, Colo.; and cousin Robbie Murta of Great Bend, Kan.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Altus Hospice for the loving care they gave Lori over the past 3 years, especially Bonnie, Patrick, and Cindy, and to all the family and friends who brightened her days.

Memorials may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church or Women in Need in Greenville.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 9 at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home in Wolfe City.

A celebration of Lori’s life will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 10 at Redeemer Lutheran Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery at 2:00 P.M. in Wolfe City.
