November 25, 1925 –  December 6, 2010 Mary Lue Ray, 85, of Wolfe City died Dec. 6, 2010, at Hunt Regional Medical Center of Greenville.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at R. W. Owens & Son Funeral Home chapel, with Rev. Terry Blankenship and Dr. Kevin Mitchell officiating.

Burial will be at Mount Carmel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Ray was born Nov. 25, 1925, in the Short Creek community in Fannin County to Lloyd E. and Evie Lena Lumpkin Henslee. She went to school and graduated from Bailey High School in 1942. She enjoyed sports and played basketball, volley ball, soft ball and baseball.

On Aug. 19, 1945, she married Doyle Ray in Wolfe City. She retired from Brookshire’s Grocery in 1984 after 21 years of service.

She was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Lloyd Edward and wife Jackie Ray of Wolfe City, son-in-law William Gill of Irving; grandchildren Jonathan Ray and wife Brandy of Wolfe City, Christopher Gill of Irving, Nathan Wade Gill and wife Tammie of Irving; great-granddaughter Emily Gill; sister-in-law Imogene Fisher of Arkansas; sister Della Myrl Green of Denison, Reon Pelton of Greenville; brother and sister-in-law Joe Charles and Mary Nell Henslee of Wolfe City; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Ray; daughters Nancy Lue Ray and Mary Evelyn Gill; brothers J.H. Henslee and wife Jo, Leslie Henslee and wife Ruth, Clyde Henslee and wife Oneta, and Lee Boyd Henslee.

Pallbearers will be Charles Clay Henslee, Tim Waldrop, Richard Lynn Millsap, Rickey Lynn Henslee, Lanny Johnston and Nick Cangiamilla
