Uralee Barker Farell departed this world to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday morning, June 21st, 2015. She was a loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She leaves behind a legacy of love and faithfulness.
Uralee was born on October 3rd, 1913, in the Aberfoyle community of Hunt County, Texas. She was the third of 10 children born to J.F. and Maude Barker. The growing family soon moved to the Fairlie community near Commerce. After graduating from Fairlie High School, Uralee married Charlie Farell when she was eighteen years old. Together they built a successful farm in Fairlie and nurtured a loving family for the next 67 years. After Charlie’s death in 1998, Uralee continued to live in Fairlie and care for her son and daughter as they battled cancer. She moved to Dallas in 2005 to live near her remaining son and grandchildren.
Uralee committed her life to Jesus and served Him faithfully at Fairlie Baptist Church for over 90 years. She worked for the United States Post Office and the Commerce Public Library. In Dallas, she was actively involved at Wilshire Baptist Church and First Baptist Church. Her most cherished role was as “MomMom” to her 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Uralee is preceded in death by her parents, J.F. and Maude Barker; husband Charlie Farell; son Charles Lee Farell; daughter Gailya Farell Blanton and son-in-law Charles Blanton; siblings Gladys Barker, Lilas Barker, Harold Barker, Hollis Barker, Lucille Lloyd, Allen Barker, Roy Dale Barker, Morris Barker, and Maureen Stepter.
She is survived by her son, Harold Dan Farell and wife Linda; grandchildren Charles Daniel Blanton and wife Maura Nolan, Jennifer Blanton Burks and husband Michael, Clay Farell and wife Amy, Glen Farell and wife Lydia, Dana Lynn Carona and husband Joey, Chrissy Perez and husband Scott, and Julia Meek and husband Austin; great-grandchildren Ruby Burks, Ryan Farell, Preston Burks, Charlie Carona, Elizabeth Farell, Drew Farell, Felice Carona, Anderson Burks, Aubrey Farell, Danny Carona, Mabel Carona, David Farell, and Banner Perez. She is also survived by brother-in-law Norman Stepter, sisters-in-law Nelda Barker and Shirley Barker, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at Fairlie Baptist Church in Fairlie, Texas will Rev. James Teel officiating. Interment will be at Sonora Cemetery in Fairlie with Dan Blanton, Clay Farell, Glen Farell, Michael Burks, Joey Corona, Scott Perez, and Austin Meek serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home in Wolfe City from 6:00 till 8:00
P.M. Tuesday, June 23, 2015.
