August 23, 1912 –  March 1, 2011 Vera M. Long, 98, of Wolfe City died March 1, 2011, at Smith Nursing Home following a lengthy illness. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Miller Grove Cemetery in Miller Grove with Bro. Lyndon Petty officiating.
R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home of Wolfe City is in charge of arrangements.

Born Aug. 23, 1912, in Brashear, she was the daughter of Walter and Gertrude Patton Bridges. She married Boyd Long on March 18,1936, in Brashear. Mrs. Long was a homemaker and a member of Aberfoyle Baptist Church.

Survivors are her husband of Wolfe City; nephews Billy Long of Wolfe City, Dennis Long and wife Shirley of Denton and Kenneth Long and wife Betty of Grand Prairie; a niece, Jan Wilson and husband Ken of Caddo Mills; and cousins Ruby Nell Moseley, Johnnie Clay and Flora McWilliams, Marcelle and Bill Romack, Eldon Ray McWilliams, Margie and Harold Hill and Larry and Lana Mabe.

Her parents and a son, Ray Dell Bridges, preceded her in death.
