July 6, 1917 –  December 4, 2014 Funeral Services for Nolan Randell Jones of Lubbock, and formerly of Herford and Celeste, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, at the R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home Chapel in Wolfe City with Bro. James Seigler officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow the service in the Celeste/Hogeye Cemetery in Celeste. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Jones was born July 6, 1917, in Pike, Texas, to Samuel Gay and Grace Jenette Etheridge Jones. He married Thelma Barnett on April 14, 1937, in Greenville. Mr. Jones was a retired dairyman. He was a member of Avenue Baptist Church in Hereford, and attended Highland Terrace Baptist Church in Greenville.

Survivors are two sons, Nolan Elwood Jones and wife Mary of Greenville; James C. Jones of Celeste; two daughters, Linda Wall and husband Dan and Judy Sessums and husband Bobby, all of Plains, Texas; daughter-in-law Sherry Jones; sister Frances Ellen Tipson of Shreveport, La.; brother Dale Jones of Ft. Worth; 16 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 67 years; brothers and sisters Carroll Jones, Kenneth Jones, Elwood Jones and Evelyn Jones; two grandchildren, Wesley Jones and Gregory Jones and a son. Paul Dan Jones.
