Martha “Arvinia” Paris Barnes June 10, 1933 – August 22, 2020 Martha “Arvinia” Barnes, age 87, passed away at Glen Rose Nursing and Rehab in Glen Rose. She was born to John and Purna Greenwood Paris June 10, 1933. Arvinia attended Leonard High School. After leaving high school, she married Glendon Barnes in Wolfe City. She was a Sunday school teacher, loved gardening and was an avid quilter. She made many beautiful quilts. Arvinia is survived by her son, David Barnes of Greenville, daughter, Susan Wisdom and husband Mark of Glen Rose, three grandchildren: Sara Wisdom, Hanna Wisdom, and John Wisdom all of Glen Rose, and two sisters: Imogene Wallace of Greenville and Edith Isbell of Denison. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers: Fred Paris, Lenzel Paris and Clyde Paris, and three sisters: Louise Woodruff, Mearl Allen, and Earlene Foster. The graveside service will be conducted by Pat Painter at 10:00 A.M., Friday, August 28, at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City. The funeral home will be open for viewing on Thursday, August 27, 2020 from 8:00 to 5:00.
